Refer-A-Friend Rules
All users participating in Oceanic Time Warner Cable of Hawaiis Refer-A-Friend program must first read and understand the rules of the program. At any time and without notice, Oceanic reserves the right to modify these rules, to suspend participation from any customer whose actions are deemed to be abusive, to change the offer, or to cancel this program completely. Other restrictions may apply.
How does it work?
For every friend who gets installed with Road Runner as a result of your referral, you will get the value of one month of FREE Residential Road Runner service in the form of a service credit on your cable bill. Your credit will equal the monthly amount that you pay for Road Runner at the time your friend is installed with service. In addition, your friend can take advantage of Road Runners then current public offer. The Refer-A-Friend promotion is to be used only for 'residential' Road Runner service, and is not combinable with any other offer or promotion. One time charges for cable modem installation, computer setup, ancillary equipment, cable line extensions or applicable monthly taxes and fees are not covered in the Refer-A-Friend offer.
Who's eligible?
If you're a residential customer of Oceanic Time Warner Cable of Hawaii (Oceanic, Hawaiian Cable & Sun Cable), you can participate in Refer-a-Friend. Non-commissioned Oceanic Time Warner employees may also participate. Commercial accounts are excluded at this time.
What if my referral lives outside Hawaii?
This is a Hawaii-only program. You, the person making the referral, should be a customer of Oceanic Time Warner Cable of Hawaii, and the person you're referring, should also live in Hawaii. If you live outside of Hawaii, check with your local cable company to see if they have a similar Refer-A-Friend program.
What constitutes an eligible referral?
Please review carefully:You can refer anyone who lives in Oceanic Time Warner Cable serviceable areas on Oahu, Maui, Kauai or the Big Island. Referrals who live in the US Mainland will not be contacted. You should refer people who are NOT CURRENT Road Runner customers. Credits will ONLY be given to NEW residential Road Runner customers that were installed as a direct result of your use of this Refer-A-Friend web site. Any referral that you may have made prior to November 29, 2001 and any referral that was not processed through this web site is NOT eligible for a credit. Please advise the people you refer to WAIT for an Oceanic representative to contact them. If your friend calls us to order Road Runner before we can call them, you will not be eligible for credit. Why? Because we will not be able to verify incoming Road Runner sales orders against the Refer-A-Friend database.
Do I need to be a Road Runner customer to make a referral?
Technically, no. BUT, because this program is setup to give you credits off your monthly Road Runner subscription, if you are not a Road Runner customer, you won't receive any credits for your referrals. For example, if you currently pay $44.95/month for Road Runner, your credit for a successful referral will be $44.95. If you pay $0, because you're not a Road Runner user, your credit will be $0. But in these cases, your friend can still take advantage of Road Runner's current public special offer.
Am I limited to the number of referrals or credits I can have?
No. You can submit as many referrals as you like, and accumulate as many credits as you like. So, if you get 12 of your friends online with Road Runner, you will have earned 12 months of credit on your cable bill
essentially, giving you free Road Runner service for a year. Credits are applied as soon as your referral is installed with Road Runner, so you will receive more than one credit in one billing period if that is applicable.
How and when do I get my credit?
Credits will be given on your cable bill within the next billing cycle after your friend gets installed with Road Runner. Keep in mind, agreeing to take the Road Runner service does not equate to actually being installed. The actual installation of your friend's Road Runner service will trigger the credit on your bill. Also, depending on the date when your referral was installed, compared to the date that your bill closes for the month, you may not see your credit until the following statement.How can I check the status of my referrals?
We've created a convenient way for you to follow your referrals. Simply login to the Refer-A-Friend web site and click on 'Status' link to see what's happening with your referrals. Please do not call Customer Service for 'status' questions.
What happens in the event of conflicts or disputes?
In the event that multiple customers referred the same person or family, the customer who submitted the referral first will receive the credit. This also covers the possibility when two different people who live in the same household are referred by different people. The first referral submitted will always take precedent. If needed, Oceanic Time Warner Cable will be the final arbitrator in any dispute.
What about privacy?
For you, the person making the referrals, the existing Time Warner Privacy Notice will apply to your use of the Refer-A-Friend web site. For any friend that you refer to us, we will use the information you provide to contact them regarding the Road Runner service. Oceanic will NOT use this information for any other purpose. Still, it is recommended that you contact your friends and family about the Refer-A-Friend program before you submit their names to us.
